Chris McQueen double helps Huddersfield beat Hull KR
Huddersfield forward Chris McQueen scored two tries to help the Giants secure their second win of the season with a 26-12 success over Hull KR at the John Smith’s Stadium.
It took a while for the game to get going but Huddersfield broke the deadlock in the 20th minute thanks to Chris McQueen.
Giants captain Luke Yates extended the home side’s lead in the 33rd minute as he dived under the posts. Olly Russell added the extras.
The hosts were on top in the first half and Josh Jones went over for the club’s third of the day. Russell’s conversion saw the Giants lead 16-0 at the break.

England winger Jermaine McGillvary marked his first appearance of the season with a try shortly after the second half restart.
Hull KR pulled one back on the hour as Brad Takairangi latched onto Jordan Abdull’s grubber to score. Abdull added the extras for the Robins were still 14 points behind.
There was a glimmer of hope for Hull KR when Mikey Lewis scored in the 74th minute but it was quickly diminished after McQueen got his second late on. Russell’s conversion sealed a 26-12 win for the Giants.
