Coleman thinks week off will help Skolars in derby
London Skolars head coach Jermaine Coleman hopes that the week off they have just had will work in their favour when they take on Hemel Stags.
The Skolars have made an unbeaten start to their Kingstone Press League One season, with one win and a draw in their opening two games.
Coleman has said that form can go out the window in derby games such as this against Hemel Stags, but hopes the week off they have had can benefit them.
“If I’m honest having a week off has been a pretty good thing for us. We probably started our pre-season earlier than most so a week off now is not necessarily a bad thing,” Coleman said.
“It’s meant we could spend a little bit more time working on structures and shapes and fixing up what’s gone awry in the first couple of games. So it’s been a productive week for us.
“I suppose form will go out of the window on Friday. The last couple of games have been very close.
“We’ll go up there full of confidence and we expect to do well. If we turn up and perform to our strengths and abilities then we give ourselves the opportunity to win.”
