Whitehaven utility Connor Holliday has signed a new one-year deal with the Championship club.

The back-rower has made 108 appearances for Haven since joining the club back in 2015. His versatility has seen him play back-row, centre and wing over the last five seasons at the Recreation Ground.

Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton said: “I’m pleased Connor has signed on again.

“He’s a good, local lad who is still young and has the right work ethic. He trains hard and looks after himself.

“He’s great for us as he gives us a number of options with him being able to play in a number of positions.

“We saw last season that he got better as the season went on and hopefully he’ll kick on again next season.”

Holliday added: “I could never see myself going anywhere else – it’s not an option really.

“It will be tough in the Championship and we’ll need to step up but I think we’ll go alright.”
