Coventry sign Jack Francis

Coventry Bears have reinforced their forward pack with the signing of prop forward Jack Francis.

The Oldham-born prop forward has impressed in the student ranks.

“Latest signing Jack Francis is another Leeds Beckett University student who has caught my eye over the last 12 months playing in the student game,” said Bears coach Tom Tsang.

“He is a big powerful and aggressive prop or second row and will add some physicality to our pack.

“He has previously played at League One level last year with Gloucestershire All Golds and started the season in the Rochdale squad before leaving due to University commitments.”

The player himself is grateful for the opportunity to display his talents in the professional ranks of the game.

“I think signing for the Bears will give me a great opportunity to show what I can do as part of a club new to the competition,” he said.

“They have already made their mark and shown they can work hard to prove themselves. 

“Although being out of the game due to injury has meant missing the start to the season it has left me all the more fervent to get back on the field, and playing along side some of my good mates is just a bonus!”
