Cudjoe named player of the round

Huddersfield centre Leroy Cudjoe has been named Frontline Player of the Round following his outstanding performance in the Giants’ 50-12 win over Harlequins RL.

Cudjoe amassed a total of 929 points in the Frontline rankings this week when his two tries and 15 tackles helped him claim the player of the round award. He also carried the ball 14 times for a total of 135 meters in attack, burst through four 4 tackles, made two clean breaks and provided two try assists.

Cudjoe has been joined in the Frontline Team of the Week by team-mate Jermaine McGillvary, who occupies one of the wing positions with Hull FC’s Tom Briscoe claiming the other spot. St HelensJames Roby has earned his place in the team as hooker while Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield is named at as stand-off.

Sinfield is joined in the Frontline selection by his Leeds and England colleague Jamie Peacock at prop. Hull FC’s Willie Manu and Olivier Elima of Bradford Bulls are in the second row with St HelensScott Moore at loose forward. Wigan’s Sam Tomkins keeps his place in the team at full-back while Crusaders centre Tony Martin has earned his selection. St HelensJonny Lomax is at scrum-half with Bradford Bulls prop Andy Lynch completing the team.

Points are calculated from every action made by players with every involvement given a points value depending on the importance and frequency of the action. For example a try would be the highest scoring value, with actions such as tackles and carries scoring smaller values. Mistakes such as handling errors or penalties conceded would incur negative values.

At the end of a match, all the players’ actions are added together to give a game score. The 13 individuals with the highest scores in each position on the field of play earns inclusion in the Frontline Index Team of the Week with the highest scoring individual earning the Frontline Index Player of the Week title.
