Cunningham: Saints not after Gilmore
St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham says he is not “openly after” Widnes playmaker Tom Gilmore at this point in time.
Gilmore has been linked to a possible move to Saints in the future following Tom Gilmore’s shift from the Vikings to Langtree Park.
The 21-year old halfback is stuck behind Kevin Brown and Joe Mellor at Widnes. Gilmore, who debuted in Super League in 2012, has played 15 games and scored eight tries for the Vikings.
The Widnes product was loaned to London last year and in 2014 spent time with the North Wales Crusaders on dual registration. He is contracted to the Select Security Stadium until the end of 2016.
Cunningham said his club is not “opening going after” Gilmore “at the minute”.
“Tom is friends with Percy and Jack Owens,” he told The St Helens Star.
“He is a good little player and I am always interested in good little players, especially people who live down the road.
“If he becomes available and we have finances available and he fits our club then we will always look at it, but he is not a player we are openly going after at the minute.”
