Cunningham wary of Catalans’ improved away form

St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham has acknowledged that Catalans Dragons’ improved away form this season makes them a tough side to play against.

Saints welcome the Dragons to Langtree Park on Thursday evening, and Cunningham knows that his men must be at their best to have a chance of winning.

“I think over previous years, probably Catalans’ biggest issue has been when they are out on the road,” he said.

“They made the top-eight last year just on home victories alone.

“They’ve really swung it round, they probably made a real big emphasis on that this year.

“You can see it’s paying off them. They’ve got a team full of stars, and some big players who have played in lots of big games.

“They’ve got some sat on the sidelines who when they come back will strengthen the squad.

“They’re going to be a tough team to play against.”
