Dobson returns for Hull KR
Scrum half Michael Dobson made a surprise return for Hull KR in their Super League defeat at Warrington on Sunday.
Dobson, 25, had been expected to be missing for at least a month after suffering a shoulder injury in the round 2 win at Wakefield a fortnight ago, but was called upon by coach Craig Sandercock when understudy Jordan Cox rolled his ankle in training.
Sandercock told the club’s official website: “It was something that we didn’t think was going to happen until Sunday morning and it was good to have him back.
“Jordan Cox rolled his ankle in training yesterday and we spoke to Michael this morning who said he felt good.
“The doctor checked him over and said that structurally and clinically he was okay to play and that he’d get through the game without causing any further damage. Luckily that was the case.
“I’m hoping that we got through today without picking up any more major injuries and hopefully Lincoln (Withers), Scott (Murrell) and Jordan (Cox) will be available for next weekend.”
Hull KR welcome winless Widnes to Craven Park for their next Super League encounter, on Sunday.
