Dragons slay away demons

Catalans have won their sixth of eight away games this year with a 12-24 triumph over Leeds.

Historically strugglers on this side of the channel, the French club has shrugged off that stigma in 2016 to notch another victory away from home on Friday.

“In the past, we were very sad to go back in our private jet,” Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous said.

“This year, it’s pleasing to come back with smiles on our faces.”

The Dragons are now third on the Super League table, just two points behind leaders Hull FC.

Against the Rhinos Catalans fielded 12 Frenchmen in their 17-man squad.

“I was very proud of their efforts, especially with 12 French players in my Catalans team,” Frayssinous said.

“It’s a big response to those people who say that we are a team full of Australians.”
