Draw made for Sixth Round of Challenge Cup
Champions St Helens start the defence of their Challenge Cup crown with a sixth round tie against Whitehaven.
Whitehaven produced arguably the result of the fifth round when they got past York. They will now pit their wits against the three-peat Super League champions.
11 Super League clubs joined the teams already in the competition. Toulouse had already made the decision not to compete this year.
Meanwhile, runners-up Castleford will start their quest for a second straight trip to London with a tie against the 2020 champions Leeds at Headingley.
Daryl Powell’s first Challenge Cup match in charge of Warrington will see the Wire welcome Wakefield to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Championship leaders Featherstone will pit their wits against 2021 Super League League Leaders Catalans. The Dragons made history in 2018 as the first non-English team to lift the Challenge Cup in Steve McNamara’s first season.
Meanwhile, unbeaten Barrow put their run on the line when they play Ian Watson’s Huddersfield in Cumbria. Also, Matt Peet’s first cup match in charge of Wigan will see them host Salford at the DW Stadium.
The other Championship side left Sheffield, have been draw at home Hull FC. The Black and Whites will be hoping to go further after a semi-final appearance in 2021.
Finally, following Leigh’s late victory at Bradford on Monday night, they will now travel to Tony Smith’s Hull KR.
