Draw made for the fifth round of the Challenge Cup
The draw for the fifth round of the Challenge Cup has been made.
North Wales Crusaders, the only League 1 team remaining in the Challenge Cup, were drawn at home to Sheffield Eagles. The latter were the famous winners from 1998, when they shocked favourites Wigan at Wembley.
Leigh secured the 10th and last place in the fifth round with a big 38-4 win over Widnes, face a trip to Odsal to face Bradford in the standout tie of the round.
New Zealand-born full-back Caleb Aekins was in outstanding form for Leigh. He scored a hat-trick to help the Centurions beat Widnes in the televised game on Monday night.
Batley, the first-ever winners of the Challenge Cup back in 1897, secured their place in the fifth round by beating the Royal Navy on Sunday. They will host Championship giants Featherstone, who have made an unbeaten start to the Championship season under Brian McDermott.
