Drinkwater aiming to make Broncos impact
New London signing Josh Drinkwater says he can’t wait to be part of the Broncos squad.
Drinkwater, 21, has joined from St George Illawarra Dragons, having made his NRL debut for them against Newcastle last season.
The half-back said: “I’m really looking forward to getting over there and playing Super League in a different environment.
“It’s something I wanted to do since I was a child and when this opportunity popped up I had to take it. I can’t wait to be a part of the Broncos. It’s obviously a massive change and challenge for me and I am confident I can make an impact for the Broncos.”
It’s his first time in the UK, and he admits it will take some time for him to find his feet in the capital.
He added: “I’m lucky in that my cousin moved to London a month ago so I’ve been in regular contact with him and also my girlfriend will be joining me. It will make it much easier having her there to support me.”
Drinkwater goes straight in the Broncos squad to face Bradford on Sunday, where he could line-up alongside another new recruit, Ben Farrar.
