Duffy’s Lions ready for Leigh
Swinton Lions coach John Duffy was disappointed with his team’s display in their 54-8 defeat at Bradford last week.
The former Scotland international wants to see a reaction from his players when they face Leigh at home on Sunday.
“We were disappointed with the performance,” he said.
“We’ll be looking to come up with a better performance this week, we’ve got a chance to get in a performance before the Summer Bash.”
Prop Mike Morrison is a doubt for Swinton, but hooker Vila Halafihi should return to the side.
Leigh won 56-14 at Oldham last time out, and coach Neil Jukes hopes that they can continue their momentum.
“Our preparation was brilliant, we were up for the game,” he said.
“We knew that Oldham bring a lot of enthusiasm to their game and we wanted to be better in every department.
“We had good completions and overall I was delighted. Brad Fash was brilliant on debut and we looked a confident team.
“Now we’ve got to recover and do it all again. With Sam Hopkins coming back after suspension it will be a tough team to pick, which is brilliant for us.
“We have a lot of quality in our team and when we bring our A game, we are a very difficult team to beat.
“We will remain professional, do all the right things, review Swinton and prepare no differently to playing Bradford the following week. We want to cement our place in the top four as soon as we can and then we can reassess.”
