Eddie and Stevo honoured by Parliament
The Parliamentary Rugby League Group has honoured five people who have contributed to rugby league by making them new Honourary Life Members.
The five individuals (in alphabetical order) are:
– Sally Bolton OBE, former RFL director and RLWC2013 General Manager
– Ray French MBE, dual code international and BBC Sport presenter
– Eddie Hemmings, Commentator & Presenter, Sky Sports
– Neville Smith, Executive Producer, Sky Sports
– Michael Stephenson, Commentator & Presenter, Sky Sports; GB International & World Cup Winner
“We are delighted to be able to award Honourary Life Membership of the Parliamentary Rugby League Group to five worthy recipients,” saidthe RL Group’s chairman, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland.
“We want everyone to know that all those we honour in this way have our gratitude for their work in support of our great game over many years. All are very well deserved.”
The five join a small group of Honourary Life Members including Group Founders David Hincliffe and Sir Ian McCartney, BARLA’s Spen Allyson and Maurice Oldroyd, and the RFL’s Richard Lewis.
