England signs new Featherstone deal
Featherstone prop Anthony England has agreed a new two-year deal at the Bigfellas Stadium.
England, 25, joined Rovers from Dewsbury in the close season, and has scored four tries in 20 appearances.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed being part of such a professionally run club and have had no hesitation in agreeing a two year extension to my contract and I am really looking forward to being part of the exiting times ahead at Rovers.”
England came through the ranks at Castleford, and also spent time on loan at Gateshead.
Head Coach Daryl Powell said: “Anthony has been a strong performer this season and I am delighted he has agreed to stay at the club for the next two years.
“He is big, strong and aggressive which has been the hallmark of our forward pack throughout the year. Anthony can now focus on helping the team achieve our goals for this most crucial part of the season.”
However, fellow front-rower Michael Haley has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken foot, suffered in last weekend’s Northern Rail Cup final defeat to Halifax.
