England trio withdraw from squad

Jonny Lomax, Gareth Hock and Danny Tickle have withdrawn from the England squad facing the Exiles on Wednesday.

Lomax picked up a rib injury in St Helens’ victory over Hull KR.

Hock has pulled out for personal reasons, while Tickle has suffered a bicep injury after playing in Hull FC’s 28-24 victory over Huddersfield.

Wigan’s Liam Farrell, Hull KR’s Scott Taylor and Josh Hodgson will come into the squad.

England coach Steve McNamara said: “The three players coming in are all quality players currently in form. They now have a great opportunity of making the step up to this level and really pushing for a place in the starting line-up.

“I am very excited about the second game against the Exiles. It should be a physical encounter featuring some of the best players currently playing in the Super League.”
