Every Super League club’s average attendance in 2022
With the regular Super League season at its end and the play-offs well underway, we take a look at every Super League side’s average attendance during the 2022 campaign.
Leeds – 1
Leeds Rhinos rank at the top for average attendance in 2022 with an official figure of 12,940. Their highest attendance came in the final round for their all or nothing clash against Castleford at Headingley Stadium.
Their lowest was still an impressive 10,655 in Round Three against Catalans Dragons.
Wigan – 2
Wigan saw an official average attendance of 12,278. The DW Stadium side also recorded the highest attendance of the season with 19,210 during their Round 25 home clash against St Helens.
St Helens – 3
St Helens recorded an average attendance of 11,851 for their 2022 campaign. Kristian Woolf’s side finished the season at the top of the table, claiming the League Leaders’ Shield for the first time since 2019.
Their highest attendance at the Totally Wicked Stadium came during Round Eight, with an official figure of 17,980.
Hull FC – 4
Hull FC recorded an impressive number of 10,763 at the MKM Stadium. A disappointing season saw them part ways with head coach Brett Hodgson, with Tony Smith taking over for 2023.
Their highest attendance came in the final round against Hull KR with 16,999.
Warrington – 5
The Halliwell Jones Stadium saw an average crowd of 8,719. Their highest was 10,476 against St Helens during Round 13.
Catalans – 6
The Dragons averaged a crowd of 8,068 during their 2022 Super League campaign. Their highest attendance came during Round 17 against St Helens with 10,260.
They saw a crowd of 9,514 for their play-off clash against Leeds at Stade Brutus.
Hull KR – 7
Hull KR enjoyed some impressive attendance in 2022 at Craven Park. Their average was 7,788, and peaked at 10,300 for the derby during Rivals Round.
Castleford – 8
Castleford’s average attendance came in at 7,542 at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle. Their highest came during the opening round with a sell-out crowd of 10,500 against Salford.
Huddersfield – 9
The John Smith’s Stadium side saw an average attendance of 5,144. Their highest attendance recorded during Round 15 with 6,712 against Leeds.
The Giants also recorded an attendance of 6,374 for their play-off eliminator clash against Salford.
Toulouse – 10
Toulouse recorded an average attendance of 4,974 for their debut season in Super League. Sylvain Houles’ side fell to relegation and will compete back in the Championship in 2023.
Wakefield – 11
Wakefield Trinity recorded the second lowest average attendance with 4,613 in the 2022 Super League campaign. Their highest attendance came in at 7,046 and their lowest 3,166. The club have also parted ways with head coach Willie Poching.
Salford – 12
The Red Devils averaged a crowd of 4,529 at the AJ Bell Stadium, the lowest in the competition. Their highest was recorded during Round 21 with 6,041, while it also came with an impressive 44-12 victory over St Helens.
