Ex-Featherstone star Cameron King suffers suspected ACL injury

Former Featherstone hooker Cameron King is set for an extended period of the sidelines after suffering a suspected ACL injury.

King, 28, suffered the injury playing for new club Cronulla Sharks in their pre-season victory over Canterbury Bulldogs in Port Moresby.

He went down under no contact and was visibly in pain after twisting his knee coming out of dummy half.

King was helped from the field and now looks a major doubt for the beginning of the NRL season, which is just three weeks away.

Australian King joined the Sharks on a one-year deal in the off-season, having starred for Featherstone in the Betfred Championship in 2019.

He scored 18 times in 28 appearances for the club last year, helping them to within one game of a place in Super League.
