Fages to captain France
St Helens half-back Theo Fages has been named captain as France announce their 24-man squad for the 2017 World Cup.
As expected, Catalans Dragons contribute a significant proportion of the squad though regulars Remy Casty (hand) and Vincent Duport (knee) are missing through injury.
Seven Dragons players are included, as well as other English-based players Gadwin Springer (Castleford), Eloi Pelissier, Antoni Maria (both Leigh), William Barthau, John Boudebza (both London), Benjamin Julien (Warrington), Roman Navarette (Wigan) and Hakim Miloudi (Doncaster/Hull).
Championship Shield winners Toulouse provide three players.
France play Jamaica in a warm-up test in Perpignan on October 13, before opening their World Cup campaign against Lebanon on October 29.
