Faiumu keeping feet on the ground
Huddersfield forward David Faiumu says the squad is keeping their feet on the ground, despite hitting the top of Super League last weekend.
The Giants climbed to the top of the tree with their fifth win in six games this season on Sunday, and will look to maintain that spot when they entertain Castleford in front of the SKY TV cameras on Friday.
But Faiumu says being top of the league is not something which they’ve talked about.
He said: “Browny (Nathan Brown) hasn’t even spoke about it to be honest and will make sure we keep our feet on the ground. It’s about consistency at the moment, just staying consistent and turning up each week with the same attitude. As we’ve seen this weekend any team can win from the top of the league to the bottom.
“We’re doing well but not getting carried away, at the moment we feel that we’re kind of flying under the radar.”
Faiumu, who joined the club in 2008 from North Queensland Cowboys, also believes that the current crop of players are some of the best he’s seen at the club.
