Fisher in permanent Catalan stay
Batley have announced the departure of hooker Ben Fisher who has agreed a full-time contract with Super League outfit Catalan Dragons.
Fisher, 31, had been originally on loan at the Perpignan club, having signed as cover for the injury-hit Dragons in January.
The Sydney-born former Scotland international has made seven appearances in just over three months, and Dragons coach Trent Robinson has decided to offer Fisher a permanent contract.
Bulldogs chief executive Paul Harrison said: “A deal was agreed for (Fisher) to return to the Mount this month with the help of B.I.S.S.A., but Catalans have now offered him a full-time deal which has been agreed, allowing him to relocate his family to Perpignan.”
Fisher’s Batley career was restricted to just two friendly appearances in the winter, after he was signed from Hull KR.
