Fisher makes Catalan move
Hooker Ben Fisher has joined Catalan on a two-month deal from Batley Bulldogs.
Fisher, 30, only moved to Mount Pleasant in the close season following the end of his deal at Hull KR.
The Scotland international scored 33 tries in 165 appearances for the Rovers, before opting to drop down to the Championship for 2012.
However, the Dragons have given him another shot at Super League, as coach Trent Robinson looks to plug the gaps left in his squad by an outbreak of injuries.
Youngster Elio Pelissier, who featured regularly at hooker for the Dragons last season, is out with a broken jaw, while Frederic Vaccari picked up a cruciate ligament injury in the friendly against London last week and is expected to be sidelined for several months.
Cyril Stacul is out with a broken ankle and captain Gregory Mounis is out for a month with a knee injury.
Robinson said: “After the injuries of Eloi Pelissier and Greg Mounis, we felt as we needed an experienced hooker to partner Ian Henderson over the next two months.
“I value Ben’s ethic as a player and as a person and know he will settle quickly in to our system.
“A big thanks to Batley, where John and Paul were understanding and very helpful in the process.”
