Former player Moulsdale appointed CEO at North Wales Crusaders

Former player Andy Moulsdale has been appointed as the new CEO of North Wales Crusaders.

Moulsdale, 30, captained the club in its first season and played a key role in the 2013 promotion-winning campaign.

Last year he combined playing with the role of General Manager, but after hanging up his boots has now been appointed CEO and joined the board of directors.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m pleased to to take the role of CEO of the club.

“The last year has been hard work, but I have enjoyed helping stabilise the club. We have and will continue to put in place procedures to develop the club both on and off the field.

“Anyone who knows me knows how proud I am to be part of the club, I look forward to the coming years and building the club in the correct manor to sustain a long-term future.”
Crusaders chairman, Ian Edwards, said: “This announcement will probably not come as a surprise.

“When Andy took the general manager’s job on a part-time basis at the start of last season, it was always the intention that all being well, once he finished playing, his role would move up to being CEO and board member – it would not have been realistic to expect him to be player and board member at the same time.

“I’m sure everyone who has seen what Andy has achieved already will agree that he has already made massive strides in our off-field operations, including securing significant sponsor investment and putting in place the beginnings of a junior player pathway.

“People may not realise he’s put in significantly more time than his part-time role originally envisaged but it is an indication of how committed he is to North Wales Crusaders.

“We see keeping Andy with the club as an important step in building and developing not only the club but the sport of rugby league in North Wales and we’re delighted he’s staying with us.“
