Forster wary of “fired up” Donny
Whitehaven coach Carl Forster is hoping his side can continue their impressive form when they welcome Doncaster to the Recreation Ground on Sunday.
The Cumbrian side secured an 18-16 victory at York City Knights last weekend to extend their winning run to nine games.
Forster said: “It was a very good win for us – it was probably our toughest of the season.
“We got quite lucky near the end of the game as they missed three goals and we had to defend our own line quite a lot but we got through it and we deserved the win.”
The game will be Richard Horne’s first game in charge at Doncaster and Forster thinks the visitors will be keen to impress their new boss.
“In the first month or so that a new coach comes in you always see the team really fired up – they’ve got a chance to impress so we’ll probably face the best Doncaster there is.
“They drew with Barrow two weeks ago, so they’ll know that they can compete with the top two or three sides in the competition.
“The game is at Whitehaven which is a boost for us and if we keep doing what we’ve been doing hopefully we can get the two points.”
