Gallen to miss Origin
New South Wales captain Paul Gallen is to miss Game III of the 2013 State of Origin due to injury.
Gallen, 32, ruled himself out due to a troublesome foot problem and Robbie Farah will lead the team in his absence.
Blues coach Laurie Daley said, “Gal is quite distressed. It’s a big game for him. It’s a big game for our state. He is our leader. We wanted him there but the decision has been made in the best interests of the team.
“On one hand you have to be disappointed for Gal, but on the other hand you have to be positive and move on.”
In moving on Daley has named young Sydney Roosters back rower Boyd Cordner on the interchange bench, as Aaron Woods takes Gallen’s place in the starting XIII.
