Giants to play at Halifax

Huddersfield will play as many as three home matches away from the Galpharm at Halifax’s Shay Stadium next season.

The Galpharm Stadium pitch uses the technically advanced Grassmaster system which is due for renewal next summer, meaning the Giants have had to look elsewhere to host a handful of home games.

The impressive new east stand has recently opened at The Shay following backing from Calderdale Council.

In a statement, the Giants said: “Playing at the Shay promises to be a novel and exciting addition to the Giants experience. The Huddersfield Giants will do everything possible to ensure the inconvenience to supporters is minimal and look forward to taking Super League and the Giants brand on the short journey to the Shay.”
