Gledhill joins Sheffield on loan
Salford prop Ben Gledhill has joined Championship side Sheffield on a month’s loan.
Gledhill, 23, played in the Reds’ first three Super League games of the season, but hasn’t featured in the last three, and is not in the plans of interim head coach Alan Hunte for Friday’s game against Warrington.
The Eagles have moved quickly to counter the loss of Liam Higgins, ahead of Thursday’s match against Featherstone, a repeat of last season’s Championship Grand Final.
Sheffield coach Mark Aston said: “He’s here on a month’s loan. Alan Hunte thinks it’s a good move for the lad.”
A former Castleford academy player, Gledhill made his Super League debut for Wakefield in 2010, making 17 appearances for them in total before moving to Salford for the 2012 season.
