Graham retains Shark ties

Versatile Cronulla playmaker Wade Graham has put to bed rumours of a return to his former club Penrith by signing a two year deal with the Sharks.

Graham left the Panthers for the Sutherland shire in 2010 and has been instrumental in the Sharks’ strong start to the season.

The 21-year-old, who made his Panthers debut whilst still at school, has appeared in the back row and at five-eighth in coach Shane Flanagan’s team.

“I’m very happy with the decision I’ve made and happy to have settled my future for the next few years with the Sharks,” Graham told the club’s official website.

“The club is moving in a positive direction and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

Flanagan meanwhile said Graham was a vital part of his plans.

“Wade is a very important part of our team here at the Sharks,” he said.

“He has made a position switch to the back row this year and is doing a great job there, but he has that utility value, where he can play lock, second row, five eight or even in the centres, which makes him a vital part of our squad.”
