Green hopes Smith has fast recovery

Wigan Warriors stand off Blake Green is hoping that Matty Smith will recover from injury soon.

Smith picked up what looked a serious shoulder injury during the 46-6 victory over Salford.

The 25 year old has formed a great partnership with Green since the pair linked up at the Warriors in the close season, and the Aussie stand-off hopes his halfback partner’s injury will not keep him out for very long.

Green said on his blog: “We’re still not sure on Matty and his shoulder but again let’s hope he can get back to full fitness sooner rather than later, he is a very important player for us and will be a loss but injuries are part of the game and I’m sure whoever Waney calls upon in the coming weeks will be up to the job.”
