Grima admits Broncos lacked energy

London Broncos coach Joey Grima believes that Sheffield’s enthusiasm was key to their winning the weekend fixture at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Eagles won the game 40-6, and the London coach felt that his men did not compete hard enough during the game.

“I think it’s one thing, out-enthused,” Grima said, according to his club’s official website.

“It’s never good having three players injured including your two captains and your number one half but irrespective we still had 13 players out there and I just don’t think we competed.

“We didn’t compete hard enough and it was evident that by some of the tries that Sheffield scored – five tries off kicks – just their energy, their competitiveness was clear to see for everyone.

“It was just out-enthused by a side that were motivated and wanted to win, a lot more than what we did today, in particular areas.

“I’m not suggesting that our players didn’t go out there with the view to win, because we do that every week when we prepare.

“Iit was certainly something that wasn’t evident through the preparation through our training program this week.”
