Ground capacity increased at Hull KR

Hull KR have been boosted by the news that the capacity at their KC Lightstream Stadium has been increased.

After a recent audit, the capacity has been increased from 11,583 to 12,255, just in time for Thursday’s derby clash with Hull FC.

CEO Mike Smith said: “After reaching a near capacity crowd for the opening game of the season we wanted to look at where we could increase the capacity even further. We’ve made no secret of the fact we are an ambitious club with regards to our off the field development and we want to target two to three games a season where we have big capacity crowds so this is an important step in fulfilling that strategy.

“We’re also delighted that this will offer even more fans the chance to sample the unique derby atmosphere on Thursday and secure a ticket for the popular ClearSky East Stand. It’s down to the great work of Dave Bradley and his team that the Council have granted this increase so we are delighted with the work that has gone on behind the scenes. We’d also like to thank the Council for their co-operation.”

The increase will be made up of additional capacity, primarily in the ClearSky East Stand but also the Academics South Terrace.
