Haggerty makes permanent Haven switch
Whitehaven have signed ex Salford prop forward Matthew Haggerty on a one-year deal after impressing on a loan move last term.
Haggerty featured in 8 of Whitehaven’s final 10 games last season, scoring one try in the process. When speaking to local press, Haven CEO, Barry Richardson, was pleased by the enthusiasm Haggerty displays:
“Matthew is a player who will develop further, and I think there will be a stronger showing from him this year,” Richardson said.
“He wants to do his best, and that comes across so strongly when you talk to him. He is so keen and will become a really good asset.”
The West Cumbrian outfit have also re-signed full back Craig Benson for the 2012 season on a one-year deal.
