Halifax add half-back
Halifax have signed half-back Reece Chapman-Smith from Leeds on a one-year deal.
Chapman-Smith, 20, played in the 2018 Academy Grand Final and has been with the Rhinos since 2013.
Coach Richard Marshall said: “We became aware of Reece’s availability towards the end of last season when he was playing for Leeds Rhinos Academy.
“I’ve watched him play a few times and I thought that he would be a really good addition to the squad.
“He fits the bill as either a half-back or a full-back. He played in the Academy Grand Final for Leeds against Wigan, and I thought that he was one of the best performers on that day, guiding the team around the field. He’s got a really good kicking game, that X factor.
“He has had a tough time with injuries but if he strings a good season together with ourselves, he could force himself into our first-team. He’ll probably start with our Reserves but he’ll get his opportunity during pre-season and we’ll see where he goes from there.”
