Haughey re-signs with Hunslet

Hunslet have handed a new contract to back-rower Tommy Haughey for the 2013 season.

Haughey, 30, re-joined the club midway through this season from York, and has previously played for Featherstone, London, Castleford and Wakefield.

Hawks coach Barry Eaton said: “We are delighted that Tommy has decided to stay on for next year and that was part of the plan when we were able to get him back at the club midway through the season from York.

“He has been plagued by injuries so far on his return which has hampered his appearances but I know that when Tommy is at full fitness he’s a top player at this level as his Super League experience indicates and I am looking forward to him producing some good form at the end of this season to take into next year.”
