Have your say on the structure changes
Rugby league has been flush with debate on the new structure discussions – and now we finally know that the Super 8s will be scrapped, with a return to the same format Super League had at the turn of the Millennium.
Let us know in the comments or via social media what you make of the changes.
If we put as much effort into promoting the game the same way we’ve publicised this league format drama, the game might not be in this mess!!
Get today out of the way
Accept the outcome& let’s get the game back on the map

Great to see the original 1998 play off format return if anything else from today's meeting.

Even amongst some of the Champs clubs strongly opposed to new proposal, there’s a feeling in Salford of moving forward together now to try and improve the sport. There’s no other option really. The game will benefit if SL improves and Champs/L1 can also now negotiate own TV deal

(Big) If Elstone plays a blinder and gets a new TV deal of equivalent value then today’s decision is undoubtedly the best for #RugbyLeague. An automatic promotion spot with the same funding and cap would be awesome for the Championship. Love that the Top 5 play-offs are back too!

Sad to see the end of the qualifiers. In terms of entertainment it's the most entertaining thing in British rugby league at the moment.

Can't think of a sport that repeatedly balls up it's own structure as much as Rugby League.

It's a real compliment to York City Knights that their success on the field has led to a League 1/Championship restructure to help a club who were run into the ground off it. #RugbyLeague

Tbh, I am getting increasingly turned off by rugby league lately.
Even stuck the Premiership highlights on BT Sport the other day and didn't turn it off..
— Jay Freeman (@OnAwayGoals) September 14, 2018
Absolutely agree. Clubs have gotten lazy with regards to matchday entertainment. An RL game should really be an event. I find myself going into the ground dead on kickoff time because I know time entertainment isn't going to be up to snuff. https://t.co/uKvLqKkUdy

Well it's almost like people in rugby league have forgotten why franching and then the super 8's were brought in because with just 1 up and 1 down we end up with teams yo-yoing between divisions with no real development from the lower leagues

Why why why do they persist in the 6 extra fixtures????
— Ian knott (@ianknott_13) September 14, 2018
A quick reminder that no elite sports competition in the world has automatic relegation with an uneven fixture list. Let’s see what the Super League structure is for 2019 because they can’t become the first competition to buck that trend can they??

Let’s get it right. The structure’s a red herring. Crowds won’t rocket simply because 1 up 1 down returns. UK RL needs more superstars, more glamour, more razzmatazz, fans feeling they’re missing something if they’re not watching..sounds like the start of SL in 1996 doesn’t it? https://t.co/Lhey1QVU31
