Hayne pledges future to Parramatta
Parramatta superstar Jarryd Hayne has pledged his future to the Eels until the end of 2015 after signing a new deal.
Full-back Hayne’s current deal was due to expire at the end of next season but Eels bosses have been keen to stave off interest from a number of other clubs including western Sydney rivals Penrith.
Local junior Hayne, 25, who made his club debt as an 18-year-old in 2006, has since played 143 matches for Parramatta.
He has also made 16 Origin appearances for NSW represented Fiji at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and played in six tests for Australia.
In 2009 he was awarded the Dally M Medal.
In a statement released by the Eels on Wednesday, a club spokesman said. “We are thrilled our recently appointed co-captain has extended his contract with us for another two seasons, and are excited he will be a part of our new beginning at Parramatta.”
