Help for Heroes charity match gathers pace
The Help for Heroes charity match between Nottingham Outlaws and The Royal Artillery is gathering pace following fantastic sponsorship offers from Nottingham firms.
Local companies have stepped forward to offer their support in a variety of ways to help make the event as successful as possible and raise money for the injured servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.
Local kit supplier Terrasport have provided specially designed playing shirts for the game which will then be auctioned off afterwards with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes. Starting bid for each shirt is £25, and details of how to bid are available at heroes.nottinghamrl.co.uk.
In addition, Majestic Trophies have very kindly agreed to supply trophies and medals for the teams so each player can have something to remember the day by.
The match would not be able to go ahead without facilities and the club would like to thank the University of Nottingham for allowing free use of their Rugby pitch at Highfields, Beeston.
On the day, each supporter will be able to purchase a special match day programme which are being supplied by Nottingham printing firm, Temple Printing.
The main event of the day, the match-up between the Outlaws and the Gunners, will be sponsored by Coca Cola.
Chairman Richard Johnson said: “It’s fantastic to see the local people of Nottingham getting involved for this tremendous cause. There are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities and I urge anyone interested to get in touch with the club.
“We have already had bids in for the shirts which are proving hot property.
“The whole day will be a fantastic occasion and I encourage everyone to attend as it will be a great day for all. There is also an auction in the evening at The Approach in the town centre and again, all proceeds will go to Help for Heroes.”
There are still a number of sponsorship opportunities available and ways to get involved on the day and all the information on this can be found at heroes.nottinghamrl.co.uk.
The match will take place at Highfields, Beeston on Saturday February 20 and will kick off at 2.30pm.
