Henderson wary of desperate Eagles

London Broncos coach Andrew Henderson hopes that his team can exploit their opponents’ poor form this weekend against Sheffield Eagles.

London recorded a 34-6 win over Dewsbury last time out, and Henderson is hoping for similar on Sunday.

“It was a very strong performance against Dewsbury,” he said.

“We were dominant defensively and I think the players turned up with the right mentality. We did some good stuff with the ball and we scored some great tries. It was pleasing to bounce back with a result away from home.

“Sheffield’s form has been very indifferent this season and they’ve certainly not performed to the levels expected.

“They’re in a relegation fight now and that makes teams desperate so they’re certainly going to come here with some energy and intent.

“We’ve got to turn up with the right attitude, make small improvements with the ball and maintain the defensive standards we displayed last week. If we do that this week, I’m confident we can get the two points.”

Iliess Macani may return for London after being troubled with a kne injury.

Sheffield Eagles were beaten by Oldham last week, and are currently in ninth position in the table, on equal points with tenth place Oldham and just one point ahead of Whitehaven in eleventh.
