Hobson joins Oldham retainees

Oldham back-rower Mark Hobson has committed to the club for 2014.

Hobson, 26, is the 16th player to put pen to paper on a new deal for next year, a stark contrast to this time last year, when the Roughyeds had just one player signed up.

He said: “It looks like most of the boys are staying and we’ve already got a great team spirit. Most of us were new to the club last year, as were the coaching staff, and it took us a few weeks into the season to get to know each other and to hit it off together.

“This time everything is in place, we’re big mates with a real good crack and we’ll be aiming to get off to a flying start.”
