Horne to face disciplinary committee
Huddersfield Giants centre Graeme Horne will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee tomorrow evening for making dangerous contact with an opponent in Saturday’s Engage Super League Round 13 fixture against Catalan Dragons at Stade Gilbert Brutus, Perpignan.
Horne has been charged with the Grade C offence of using his body forcefully to twist, bend or apply unnecessary pressure to the limbs of Catalan player Jason Baitieri in the 71stminute of Saturday’s 13-12 defeat for the Giants.
Horne was charged after the incident was viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel earlier today.The Match Review Panel also issued formal cautions to the following players:
Thomas Bosc (Catalan Dragons) – dangerous contact on Huddersfield back row Luke O’Donnell in the 8thminute.
Paul Jackson (Castleford Tigers) – dangerous throw on Leeds Rhinos‘ Chris Clarkson in the 20th minute
Lee Mitchell (Harlequins RL) – dangerous contact in the 32ndand 69thminute on Salford City Reds player Ryan Boyle.
Scott Taylor (Hull Kingston Rovers) – dangerous contact on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ Frankie Mariano in the 42ndminute.
The cautions will remain on the players’ record and could be considered in the event of future disciplinary breaches.
