Horseplay at Horne testimonial

Richard Horne’s Testimonial race day at Beverley on May 12th is to feature a unique “Hull Derby” contested by Hull FC and Hull KR players.

The stars from each Super League club will perform a 150-yard sprint race along the front of the Beverley Racecourse main stand …… as pantomime horses!

The challenge of the turf will have the four top players – Horne himself and three others to be named – at the front of the horses, an academy player bringing up the rear.

Horne explained: “This unique piece of horseplay will be the showpiece finale of a great afternoon of racing being staged under the Testimonial banner.

“Two Hull FC stars, myself and one other, will contest the local derby challenge with two high profile volunteers from Craven Park in a gallop for glory”.

The Richard Horne Testimonial Race Day is being held at Beverley on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 12th, the first race commencing at 2.00 pm and the “Hull Derby” showcase race starting at 5.15 pm.

Members of the Hull FC squad will be present throughout the afternoon’s racing, which is being sponsored by William Hill.com.

Admission to the race day is £5 for the course, £12 for the Grandstand and Paddock and £19 for the Premier Enclosure.
