Huddersfield hoping to retain Ricky Leutele for 2023
Huddersfield head coach Ian Watson is hoping to retain centre Ricky Leutele for the 2023 season.
Leutele, 32, is off-contract at the end of the current season. The Samoa international joined Huddersfield ahead of the 2021 season.
The centre returned to the NRL following the collapse of Toronto in 2020, having played all his career at Cronulla Sharks until then.
Leutele proved to be a handful for Wigan on Thursday night, scoring a try and creating several opportunities in the 32-22 victory.

Ricky Leutele offered contract for 2023
“Hopefully he’s getting one (a contract),” said Watson. “We’ve offered him one, so hopefully he’s staying where he is.
“We love Ricky. We’ve offered him a contract and want him to stay here. Hopefully he signs it soon and stays where he is.”
Reflecting on his performance against Wigan, Watson added: “I thought he was outstanding. It was his 200th appearance today as well.
“I think the one thing you can say about Ricky is that he’s been Mr. consistent this year. That’s probably the biggest compliment we can give him at this moment in time.
“The level he’s playing at is phenomenal.
