Hull amateur lands Doncaster deal
Doncaster have signed Hull amateur Wayne Opie until the end of the season after he impressed during a trial.
Opie, 25, has impressed coach Tony Miller and director of rugby Carl Hall during his spell at the club, where he has made first team appearances against Halifax and Widnes.
Hall said: “Wayne came down for a trial and has done himself justice during that period.
“He’s a very brave player – his hard work and determination has paid off and he’s been duly rewarded with this contract.”
Opie, who can play in the three quarters or at second row, was recommended to the club by Hull FC. He joins the Dons from Hull based amateur side Orchard Park, and he has also played for Ideal Isberg.
