Magic Weekend preview: Hull FC v St Helens
High flying Hull FC could go top of the Betfred Super League (albeit for just a day if Castleford are to beat Leeds) if they can see off struggling St Helens in Saturday’s second match.
After a couple of good results v Castleford and Leigh following the departure of head coach Keiron Cunningham, the Saints seem to have slipped back into old habits, shipping 40 points away at Warrington and 53 in the Challenge Cup against Cas last weekend.
Those defeats have pushed the Merseyside club out to 2/1 for the two points, whilst Hull are a short 4/11 to get their 10th victory of the campaign.
Surely the Saints won’t roll over again? Expect a tighter result this weekend but the St Helens +8 handicap should be chased with relative ease by Lee Radford’s in-form squad who are chasing a sixth straight victory in all competitions, so Hull -8 @5/6 will be the bet here.
