Hull KR youngster joins League 1 club on loan
Hull KR youngster Tom Whur has joined League 1 club Rochdale on a season-long loan for 2022.
The 20-year-old forward linked up with the Hornets in 2021 on loan alongside Rovers team-mate Will Tate.
Whur said: “I’m excited to re-sign at Rochdale. I had a two-week loan last season and really enjoyed my time here and being around the lads.
“I was shy on game time last season, so I’m looking forward to hopefully getting some regular minutes for Matt Calland and in turn help the club achieve their goal of promotion.
“This experience is what I need to advance in the sport and I’m really excited to get stuck in.”
Rochdale chairman delighted to secure services of Hull KR youngster
Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “I’m really pleased to have finalised a season-long loan agreement for highly rated young Super League prospect Tom Whur.
“This is a deal that benefits both clubs but most importantly Tom. He will benefit from a season playing in a very competitive League 1 competition.”
Elsewhere in League 1: North Wales Crusaders sign new stadium deal
North Wales Crusaders have signed a new deal that will see them remain in Colwyn Bay until at least the end of 2023.
The League 1 side have signed a new two-year deal with Conwy County Borough Council to remain at the Eirias Stadium.
The facility hosted Crusaders’ home fixtures in 2021 on the back of the club’s move from Queensway Stadium in Wrexham.
Crusaders chief executive Andy Moulsdale said: “We can’t thank the Council and people in the local area enough for their support since our move to Eirias Stadium.
“This was a big move for us. We’ve always been based in the Wrexham area previously. But the response has been fantastic. It’s provided us with so many more opportunities to develop the club.”
