Hull sign Australian prop
Hull have signed Australian prop Josh Cordoba after he was granted a release by Parramatta.
Cordoba, 25, joins the Airlie Birds on a short-term deal until the end of the season having negotiated his departure from the Eels for whom he’s made nine appearances this season.
He is expected to add much needed presence to a Hull pack struggling with injuries.
Head Coach Richard Agar said, “Obviously with the injuries to Cusack, Dowes and Thackray we have been left very light in the front row.
“Josh will help shore us up in that department. He is a good player with plenty of experience and is looking forward to getting here.”
Cordoba has been playing under former St Helens coach Daniel Anderson at the Eels this season and has made more than 50 appearances for the club since making his debut against Newcastle in 2006.
Chief Executive James Rule added: “Josh has a Spanish passport which has enabled us to avoid any visa delays and bring him straight into our squad.
“Whilst it is very frustrating to be sustaining more injuries I am delighted that we have been able to be proactive and secure a player mid season to help bolster our squad.”
