Huddersfield 34-2 Salford: Ian Watson leads Giants to strong victory
Huddersfield coach Ian Watson led his side to an impressive 34-2 victory over his former club Salford at the John Smith’s Stadium.
It was actually Salford who took the lead in West Yorkshire. Half-back Marc Sneyd added a penalty goal early doors.
But their lead didn’t last long. Exciting full-back Will Pryce danced his way through the Salford defence to score. He converted his own try.
And the Giants got their second on the half hour mark as Chris McQueen dived onto a grubber. Pryce’s conversion put Huddersfield 12-2 in front.
Salford forward Ryan Lannon was sin-binned in the 39th minute. As a result, Pryce added a penalty goal to send his side into the half-time interval 14-2 to the good.
