In numbers: Super League round 12 attendances

A total of 42,094 spectators attended a fixture during Super League round 12.

That’s an average attendance of 7,015 across the six fixtures, a 2,216 decrease compared to the previous round.

Only one Super League fixture reaches five figures

Only one fixture reached five figures during round 12. St Helens recorded an attendance of 11,268 for their home clash with Hull on Friday. Kristian Woolf’s side claimed a 24-10 victory, thanks a strong second half from the home side.

Catalans recorded the next best attendance over the weekend. 9,307 saw their 40-8 win over Warrington at Stade Brutus. Winger Fouad Yaha became the club’s all-time leading try scorer, crossing for his 88th try for the Dragons. He overtook Vincent Duport to break records on Saturday.

Toulouse recorded the lowest attendance of the round. They claimed a 20-14 victory over Wakefield, with 3,909 in attendance.

On Thursday night, Huddersfield recorded an attendance of 4,962 at the John Smith’s Stadium. Matt Peet’s Wigan threatened a late comeback but the Giants held on for a 32-22 score.

8,175 attended the Mend-A-Hose Jungle for Castleford’s clash with Hull KR. The Tigers nilled Tony Smith’s side for a 32-0 win.

Salford Red Devils saw an attendance of 4,473 on Sunday for their fixture against Leeds at the AJ Bell Stadium. Rohan Smith fell to a defeat in his first game in charge of the Rhinos.

Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley praised the character his side showed in their 23-8 win over Leeds Rhinos yesterday, revealing that they had an illness-ridden week leading up to the game.

With try scorers including Ken Sio and Ryan Brierley at the AJ Bell Stadium, the victory was Salford’s first since mid-March.

A total of 576,074 supporters have attended a top flight game of rugby league in 2022.
