Inglis remains suspended
Australian international Greg Inglis will remain suspended by club Melbourne Storm for an indefinite period.
The charges relating to Inglis have been adjourned until Wednesday August 26 in the Sunshine Magistrates Court.
The centre, 22, has been charged with allegedly assaulting girlfriend Sally Robinson, but was not required to enter a plea. The case was adjourned following a request from the player’s lawyer.
The Storm board has met to discuss the issue and Inglis will remain stood down from the club.
Melbourne Storm CEO Brian Waldron said: “We believe this is the appropriate course of action and is in the best interest of all parties concerned.
“We reiterate our concern for the wellbeing of all involved.
“The club remains committed to providing counseling to all parties concerned.”
Inglis was stood down following his arrest and subsequent charge by police on Sunday. He was accompanied to the court by Waldron, football manager Frank Ponissi and other club officials.
