Injured Grix misses England clash at club home
Ireland will be without full-back Scott Grix for their match against England on Saturday.
Grix picked up a dead leg in the defeat to Fiji on Monday night, meaning the Huddersfield man misses the chance to play at the home of his club in front of a sell-out crowd.
Widnes prop Eamon O’Carroll is also missing, with Simon Finnigan drafted in.
Following the defeat to Fiji, it is a must win game for Mark Aston’s men.
Prop James Hasson said: “It is a must-win game. But we can’t think like that. We just have to carry on as we were.
“We need to believe in ourselves and believe that we can beat England and keep going as we were.”
“We were a bit deflated after the Fiji game but at the same time we can’t be too down because we know we put a good performance in.
“We were quite happy with how we played and there is a short turnaround before the England game so we have got to keep our heads up and prepare for that.”
